My wife and I had wanted to build our own home for several years and had looked at hundreds of floor plans, but could never find one that we truly liked. Having property on Medina Lake we always thought that a walk-out basement made the most sense because the property was on a slope, We talked to a couple of different builders, but none of them seemed very interested in doing a walk-out basement and basically wanted to put the house on a big concrete slab.

In November 2007, a neighbor told us about a guy (Dave Voss) that lived in the area that did walk-out basements and recommended we talk to him. We called Dave and ended up meeting with him for about 5 hours the first time we met. We talked for a while about what we were looking for and then he took us around and showed us a few houses he had built. We then went to look at our property and then back to his office to talk some more. When we left his office that day we were already convinced that Dave was going to build our house. The impression we got from that first meeting was that he was going to build a quality home and that he was going to build it as if he were building it for himself.

Even though we had a good first impression of Dave, we were still leery of the process because this was our first custom home and we had heard a lot of horror stories about homeowners and their builders. As it turned out we had nothing to worry about. Dave was absolutely terrific throughout the whole process and his wife Patrice was awesome in helping us pick out tile, carpet, countertops, etc. We did not have any problems at all. Dave was very patient with us, answered all of our questions about the building process, and offered suggestions without forcing his own ideas on us. He made the process as stress free as he possibly could and it was really a joy to work with him.

We have been in our house for about 2 years now and we absolutely love it. When we have folks over for the first time they fall in love with the house just as we did. And it is not just because of the view and the layout of the house - It is also about the quality. Everything from the foundation to the framework to the trim work is quality workmanship. We could not be happier with the final product and we feel fortunate to have found such a good builder to build our house. We feel just as fortunate to call Dave and Patrice our friends.
